Judith Clegg - Founder

Judith founded the Glasshouse in 1998. An entrepreneur in her own right  she has also worked with a wealth of entrepreneurial companies including, Pret  A Manger, and Yo! Sushi and the Ministry of Sound. She is the founder of Venturing Unlimited a venture consulting firm with entrepreneurial, investor and blue chip clients in the UK, US and the Far East and is a partner in Bluewolf Films, a British film company. Malloy, the first feature film on Bluewolf's slate,  is a stylish reworking of film noir set in present day London. With a £7.5m budget it is scheduled for production in Spring 2008. Prior to that as Associate  Director of the Egremont Group Judith advised some of the UK's best known  retailers, leisure companies and private equity firms. She has also worked  with Lord Philip Gould the political strategist and pollster to Tony Blair,  the Labour party and world leaders including Bill Clinton. Earlier in her  career Judith was a Founding Director and COO of Moonfruit the award  winning online website builder and social network,  backed by substantial European and US  funding from Bainlab, Europe@web and  Macromedia. Moonfruit was sold to Gandi.net in 2005. Judith started her career as a management consultant at Arthur Andersen.

Michael Smith - co-founder Second Chance Tuesday


Michael co-founded gadgets, games and gifts e-tailer Firebox.com in 1998. The company has grown rapidly and recently featured on the Sunday Times Fast Track list as the 13th Fastest growing company in the UK. In 2003 Michael launched a very unusual interactive entertainment business called Mind Candy. The company specialises in
puzzles and Alternate Reality Games. The first game to launch is a global treasure hunt called Perplex City that is played simultaneously by thousands of people around the world via email, web, mobile, print and a wide range of other media.

Susan Osman – Director of  Operations

Susan has over 10 years experience working online in creative and high transactional businesses.

She started her career with Andersen’s as a management consultant where  she managed large scale international programmes which included clients such as the BBC,  BskyB and Smiths.  As the dotcom boom called she moved to Moonfruit in the late 90’s to manage their operations. 

A desire to get into e-commerce and international ventures led her to Betfair where as head of international, she moved the business from English language into 16 territories and languages overseeing launches, staffing, rollout and operationalisation.  Her next move to head up programme management brought in a methodology for rapid product rollouts where she managed implementation teams for functionality such as  Poker, Yahoo! betting and community features.  With gambling quite not out of her system her move to Sportingbet saw her head up operations for Europe and emerging markets in 26 languages.

Her appointment to Glasshouse dovetails with the aim of growing the business rapidly both in the UK and overseas, together with developing new service offerings to members.

Caroline Waxler - Co-founder Glasshouse New York 

Caroline Waxler is a producer for the TV Guide Channel, developing and writing new programming. Prior to her current position she was a comedy writer for VH1, most notably at the show 'Best Week Ever", for which she was also an on-air commentator. She's member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Additionally, she's an author. In 2004, her book, 'Stocking Up on Sin', was published by Wiley and it was well reviewed internationally. Several papers including the Miami Herald called it one of the best business books of the year and Barrons named it one of the best books of 2004 overall. She's currently working on a book about Indian outsourcing and she just finished writing the memoirs of the former Deputy Director of the FBI.

Before she started in television, she was an investigative financial journalist, working for over five years for Forbes, where she was also the youngest editor of their stock market column 'Streetwalker'. She helped to launch Fortune's technology business magazine, eCompany (now called Business 2.0). From there she helped launch The New York Sun as their premiere financial columnist. She has also written for The New York Times, The Financial Times, Glamour, and Newsweek.

Waxler is on the Board of Directors at the Penn Club and heads up their event programming. She is the co-founder of the New York chapter and was a co-founder of the San Francisco chapter of the Glasshouse.

George Rudenauer (New York)
George Rudenauer, Glasshouse New York Director, is a marketing consultant specialized in building image-based luxury brand business. His experience includes over 15 years within the international marketplace. George was Director of Public Relations and Retail Marketing, The Americas, with Tiffany & Co. for eight years where he pioneered “Tiffany-Only” strategies supporting unprecedented growth. Before, Rudenauer was the International Public Relations Manager for TAG Heuer SA, the Swiss sports watchmaker, based out of the Switzerland and Paris headquarters. He was responsible for managing global brand positioning and communications strategy during peak expansion and the imminent IPO. His New York experience began at Nike Communications, a global agency dedicated to lifestyle-brand promotion. A Federalist period enthusiast, Rudenauer launched his career in public affairs with United States Senator John Kerry in Washington. Rudenauer also serves as Vice President of the Young Friends of Save Venice, a UNESCO organization which preserves endangered art and architecture.

Peg Samuel (New York)

Peg Samuel, NYC Glasshouse Director has been in the interactive media industry for over ten years. She worked on name brands as weather.com and Infoseek/Go.com in their infancy to major growth. She has been in the advertising departments at ValueClick Media, and most recently Travel Ad Network. Riding the internet wave she launched her own PR and Event Marketing Firm and since its inception morphed it into a successful direct email marketing and event business.

Always having the entrepreneurial spirit she has taken her interactive experience and her love of socializing and created her current company Social Diva (
www.socialdiva.com), a lifestyle and entertainment website.

She is a founding board member of the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association; and is currently active on the 212 Interactive group programs committee and co-founder of the Agency Lounge Series.
